Entrepreneurship

“The Kandy Girl” by Kayla (her Kandy bag)
Kayla has had the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship from an early age. Her parents have paid her to read books, for produced works like writing a song or story, editing a video, building a website, and creating something of value. Kayla (11) does not get paid to do chores. That is the price of living in the home and contributing to the family.
Kayla has learned how to negotiate her deal, track her sales, invoice, market her services, create ads and flyers, sales strategy, promotions, how to use media, and start a micro business. For example, she started a candy business last year called “The Kandy Girl” by Kayla. She asked her clients what they wanted (market research) and how much they would pay for her candy assortment. She invested her own money, purchased her inventory and began sellling.
Kayla has learned the value of hard work, customer service, business model development, and the start-up process. Now, she is looking at investing her money in her own interests. We believe every child can learn how to be an entrepreneur.
